Maxdog’s Inspiration

A continuing series of thoughts and short stories that we have ran in some local publications.
They are a reflection of what we do and what we are all about.

Why does a bundle of fur and sharp teeth take a normally reserved human being and turn them into a baby talking lump? One day we woke up with the realization that in the last ten years we were privileged to have in our lives three cats and four Yorkies. It’s obvious that they are the center of our lives. When they were young we didn’t think much about losing them, nor what to do when the time finally came. For most of us a spot in the garden is neither suitable nor possible.

We lost Maxdog first; he was blind, had difficulty walking and hearing, one day he just gave up. Knowing his time was near; we had searched for suitable options. We knew we might move, leaving him behind was not possible. Not finding any suitable alternatives in Central Oregon, we found a service outside the area that did offer a truly private pet cremation. While visiting with the owners, we came to realize that our area was in need of the same type of personnel, private and dignified service. When we lost Rusty and “Miss Kitty”, the time was right. Finding an ideal location in Bend, we now provide a truly private cremation service for your beloved bundle. Maxdog is our inspiration and our drive. With privacy, dignity, and the respect they deserve. We now offer others the same “Peace of Mind” for their own very precious bundles.

It’s All about Choices-You’re Pets after Care

I recently became concerned by a conversation I had with someone who did not know about our services. They recently lost their beloved pet. They had asked their vet about choices. The response was “We will take care of him for you.” When inquiring about their pets return the additional cost was prohibitive when added to the cost of a long illness. When I asked about them about their provider, I was disturbed that it was someone who knew of our services but had not made that option available to them.

When you next visit your vet ask them about choices for your pet’s after care. “What does “take care of them actually mean”? Where does my pet go for cremation? And if returned what assurance do I have that their ashes are only theirs? What other types of services are available to help me through this difficult time?”

You do have choices and they are yours to make. Your pet’s health care provider has the responsibility to make you aware of what those options are. We can work closely with your provider to insure that your time of need is as stress free as possible for both you and your pet’s final days. We provide full after care services. For more details please visit us on the web. Remember you do have choices. With privacy, dignity, and the respect they do deserve we truly offer “Peace of Mind”.
